Brewing Generations: Native-Owned Coffee with Roots in Heritage

Coffee is more than a drink — it’s a way we gather, share, and connect. For Native-owned brands like Cascade Pine Coffee Co., coffee is also a way of honoring where we come from while building something for the generations that follow.

I grew up in Klamath Country, where stories are passed down like the lakes, rivers, and trees — steady, rooted, and alive. When I started Cascade Pine, I knew every roast needed to carry more than flavor notes. It needed to carry meaning.

That’s where Generations Blend was born.

This roast isn’t just about the beans — though they’re special, too. Generations Blend comes from Guatemala’s volcanic highlands, where Indigenous farmers have cultivated coffee for centuries. By choosing this single origin, we’re showing respect across cultures — one Indigenous people honoring another through the land and the harvest.

On the box, you’ll see the quail design. In our stories, the quail represents family — the way we move together, protect each other, and rely on our circle. Putting that symbol on the Generations Blend packaging was intentional. It’s a reminder that coffee is meant to be shared — around tables, fires, and gatherings where stories live on.

Generations Blend is a light–medium roast with notes of rich chocolate, maple, plum sweetness, crisp apple, and a finish of black tea. But beyond taste, it’s about connection: to the land, to each other, and to the generations who came before us.

For me, every bag is a way of carrying forward the roots I stand on — and offering something honest to the people who share a cup.

This is what Native-owned coffee means. It means honoring the stories behind the beans, the designs, and the people. It means remembering that a good cup is always about more than what’s in the mug.

Coffee brand of a proud Klamath Tribal Member may the coffee and stories flow like the water in the rivers.
